I love Reading
Sounds like some cheesy Grade 2 poster… but I truly love Reading (with a capital R!). I love how it transports us to another reality, we can be the protagonist, we can be anything we want to be. I think, I try to surround myself with non-fiction… but at the end of the day, my true love is being curled up in the bed, on the couch, with a wonderful fiction. Being enthralled and cannot wait to turn the next page… laughing, crying, “living” with the characters. The good ones make you question your own life, can YOU be the protagonist in the book? Would your life play out as the book says, events certainly mirror parts of your life, like how does the author know? Not that anything recently has touched me like that, I’ve been picking up cheesy chick lit, lol. But I remember vaguely as a teenager a couple books that have taught me important lessons about growing up and some that have lightly guided me to some VERY bad choices. And you’re impressionable as a teenager, full of anxiety and emotions coursing through you. Awkward and weird, wanting to fit in but still be unique. You want it all, and then you want none of it. The indecisiveness of ourselves gets the best of us more times than not. One day you desperately want A, when you get A, “Buyer’s Remorse” comes in and you want B. I think our nature is summed up as “Grass is Always Greener on the Other Side”. But hey, that’s the beauty of life, and all kinds of things impact you to turn you into “you”.
As I told my friend, hell, everything has its ups and downs. Its human nature to wonder what its like being taller if you’re short, being skinny if you’re fat, in all cases its normal to be freaked out and its a deadly cycle! You will get what you deserve in due time. Think it through take it all in stride. ilu steph, always
